Project in Matfield

A formal garden was designed and built around this refurbished 19th Century former farmhouse. The terraces are laid to new riven Yorkstone and the walls faced with stock bricks and pointed with lime mortar to create an aged look and to link with the property. The formal lawn is framed with Yorkstone to allow the plants to spill over. Yew hedging both existing and new frame and divide the garden. Steps lead down to the pool garden. A selection of trees provide structure and interest in the garden. The planting mix provides a long season of colour from spring bulbs through to autumn hues from trees and Hydrangeas and winter silhouette from ornamental grasses.
